The Story
Pastor's had come from miles around to be taught and equipped. Many traveled days and some on foot. The village was pitch black except for the penetrating light coming from a single bulb in the little church. The sound of the unreliable diesel generator was nearly drowning out the preacher yet the place was packed. Nearly every person in the village was there sitting under the glowing lamp. This was the setting for a pastor's conference in the jungles of San Martin, Peru that we held in the summer of 2008.
Since that time, the image of that little church being literally 'the light' of that village has stayed with me. It made me wonder how we could bring more efficient and inexpensive energy solutions to these areas and literally, as well as spiritually, bring light to these villages.
The greatest humanitarian effort in the world is worthless if truth is not brought with it. You can satisfy every human need for a people, but if you give them the good news of Jesus Christ, your efforts are not eternal. For us, the sole purpose of promoting innovation will be to enable the Gospel to go further.
The Hope
I am putting up this website in hopes that perhaps God is speaking to someone else about some the same things. I don't know much about solar, wind or other renewable energy technologies, but I'm heavily interested. I have been feeding a hunger for knowledge in this area. If you are someone who is skilled/knowledgeable in this area, I would love to hear from you.
